Tsunamis (pronounced soo-na’-mees) are a series of enormous and damaging waves created by an underwater disturbance such as an earthquake, landslide, volcanic eruption, or meteorite. In the open ocean a Tsunamis can travel hundreds of miles per hour impacting land mass with waves as high as 100’ or more causing unbelievable devastation to life, property, and ecosystems.
